I figure I'll jump to the chase and introduce myself and my family. We are two parents, a husband and wife duo, who have a toddler and she is pregnant with our second.
She has been a Harry Potter fan since she was 6 years old and the first book came out, while I only got into Harry Potter for a few years in High School, reading six of the seven books in I'd say 2004 and 2005.
Just recently, we watched through all eight movies with our two year old and he was enamored, completely taken in by the spectacle of them and actually sat through them all over the course of a two day marathon, which to any of you who have two years know, that is no small feat.
However, a few days after that marathon, I asked him what he wanted to read for his bedtime story and he picked a book from our bookshelf rather than his.
He picked Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.
So I decided that I will read the books again to him, and in the process chronicle his reactions, interests and disinterests, etc. as well as learning more about these stories that I never fully took in the first time through, all while his mother gets to share in the magic of exposing her favorite books to her own child.
So.
That's where we are, and why we are here. I hope you enjoy the stories.
Based on my quick math, this should take us about 2 and a half years, and who knows, maybe that time his brother will be ready to hear these stories too.
